School Accountability Committee
The School Accountability Committee (SAC) team serves as a venue for parents, teachers and administrators to discuss and accomplish goals and objectives set forth by the district, faculty and parents.
Purpose of SAC Teams
The aim is to encourage shared leadership and responsibility among staff and parents to align resources and efforts to meet goals that are in the best interest of students. This approach is part of Jeffco’s mission to continually improve school performance, required of all Colorado schools based on the Education Accountability Act of 2009.
Specifically, Jefferson County mandates that each school must have an organized SAC team involved in the writing and approval of the school's Unified Improvement Plan, the annual improvement plan.
SAC is co-facilitated by Ralston's principal and a parent chairperson.
Who Can Become a SAC Team Member?
Any parent who wants to be involved may become a member of SAC. Parents are encouraged to commit to attending as many SAC meetings as possible throughout the year. This consistency facilitates a forum where meaningful, productive discussions add value to the community.
Parents also have the option to only attend the SAC meetings that discuss topics of interest included in the agenda.
Teacher representatives from the primary and intermediate classrooms as well as education support staff are recruited by the principal.
